i feel like its spring. i’m sure we will have more snow, or tsunamies knowing michigan, but it still feels like spring. this past week-end, i walked around cranbrook, walked around royal oak, did my taxes.
and i’ve noticed that when it gets warmer everyone starts going out again. the hamtramck blowout was great. at the knights of columbus, which felt like having a party in someone’s church youthgroup building, i ran into a few people i hadn’t seen since last year. saw the paybacks at the belmont last night. ok, maybe its just me that goes out more in the spring…
thank god the city approved the latest deal. i am still confused by the three that voted against it. but then, i will never forget the time there was a major argument over putting the red wings jersey on the spirit of detroit statue. with all the problems facing detroit, i couldn’t think of a worse thing to spend time arguing about.
*sigh* at this time in 1993, i was on my way to venice to celebrate fat tuesday. and here i am now in michigan.
a friend at work said that the royal oak restaurant association is doing a pub crawl tonight. proceeds will go to habitat for humanity hurricaine relief.
who knew they had different brands! so many to choose from. what to do, what to do.

i can’t believe that there is even a fight to keep the detroit zoo open. how ridiculous! it was built in 1920 something and is one of the oldest in america?! i would hate to see it go away.
i hadn’t been to a pistons game in so long. it was a little twilight zony. they have this mascot called hooper, i think. he floats around and also comes out and dances. there has also been an addition to the automotion girls, this group of old men who now also dance in choreographed numbers. oh, and we won.

started out with my furnace ignitor blowing out. luckily i found someone to come out on new year’s eve and at 10 pm i had heat and was ready to go!
below is a picture of my shoes next to my friend christina’s. she dressed up just a little more than i did. in fact, she got her shoes on ebay.

went to john arnold’s album release party last night at 5th. i couldn’t have wanted more from a night; amazing music, friends that i hadn’t seen in 3 years, red wings game on one side of the bar and pistons on the other. in the middle of dancing, i look up to see that the red wings won 7-6. just as paul from mudpuppies gets up there and does some funky james brown.
so, kwame is back. and yea, as a detroiter its very embarassing. and somehow ferndale thinks it can bypass state and federal law. aren’t politics fascinating?
